Link Pocket

Privacy Policy

What Link Pocket stores, when data leaves your device, and the choices you control.

Who is responsible

Link Pocket is developed and operated by Mujeeb Muhideen. For privacy questions, contact the developer at the email address below. This policy covers Link Pocket and its support pages. These disclosures describe the app’s current data flows. We will update this policy when those flows change.

Your local library

The app stores the links you save, their original and processed URLs, titles, previews, notes, tags, collections, favorites, capture history, and reminder settings on your device. It also stores preferences, search data, cached previews, and recovery copies of unfinished edits needed for local features.

Saving, browsing, editing, and lexical search do not require an app account or an AI service. Local editor recovery copies are separate from library exports and cloud sync. App Group storage lets the app and its Share or Safari extensions hand off captures on the same device.

Website previews and external links

After a link is saved locally, Link Pocket may contact its website and associated image hosts to fetch a preview. Those hosts receive the requested address and ordinary network information, such as your IP address and request headers. A URL can contain personal information in its path or query; take care with sensitive links.

Preview fetching uses a bounded client without a persistent website cookie store and does not run page scripts. Opening the original link uses your chosen browser or the system’s link handler. Those sites and applications have their own privacy practices. Missing previews do not remove a saved link.

Optional iCloud sync

Sync is off by default. If you enable it, supported library data—including links, notes, tags, collections, reminders, Trash items, and recoverable edit conflicts—is sent to your Apple Account’s private CloudKit database. Apple processes this data under its own policies. This is not a public library or a Link Pocket developer-hosted account service.

Turning sync off stops future sync on that device while retaining local data and existing iCloud data. An account change pauses sync and requires a deliberate choice before copying the library to another account. Cloud sync is a separate choice from local capture.

Permissions and system integrations

Notifications are optional. Reminder delivery uses system scheduling; notification messages are designed to avoid saved link titles, notes, or raw URLs. If you choose a location reminder, its place, coordinates, and radius are saved with the reminder and supplied to the system for delivery. The app does not maintain a movement history or its own continuous location stream.

Access to saved content through Siri and Shortcuts is a separate permission, off by default. When enabled, an action you request may show saved content through Apple’s system features. Public shortcut metadata does not contain your library. Sharing a URL into the app or enabling the Safari extension supplies the content you choose to capture.

On Mac, optional agent access is also off by default. Enabling it lets a client you configure search or read saved content over a local authenticated connection. That client may send returned content to its own model provider. Its policies and your client settings govern that further use. You can disable access and revoke credentials in the app.

Tracking, intelligence, and diagnostics

The current app has no advertising or analytics SDK and makes no direct AI model requests. It does not passively monitor your clipboard. Clipboard capture happens only when you invoke a capture action.

App diagnostics are designed to use content-free categories rather than raw URLs, titles, notes, collection names, search queries, or authentication tokens. Apple may collect device, App Store, or crash diagnostics according to your Apple settings. We do not use your saved content to train models.

Retention, export, and deletion

Your library stays locally available until you remove it. Moving an item to Trash permits recovery; permanent deletion removes its content and retains content-free identifiers where needed to prevent deleted items from returning through sync. Recoverable conflict versions and draft copies can contain authored text until resolved or discarded. Cached and derived files may remain until cleanup or replacement.

Export lets you keep a portable copy. An export, a downloaded attachment, or a file you share elsewhere is outside the app’s deletion controls. Disabling iCloud sync does not itself delete existing cloud data. If sync is disabled or unavailable, a deletion cannot reach other devices until synchronization resumes. Use the app’s deletion controls on the correct account, and consult Apple’s controls for iCloud storage and device backups.

Support correspondence is kept as needed to answer your request and follow up on the issue, then removed when it is no longer needed unless another obligation requires retention. Please do not send private library exports or credentials in a support message.

This website

These pages do not upload your app library. The website’s hosting providers process ordinary request information to deliver and protect the site. The portfolio stores your selected light or dark theme in your browser; it is not a tracking identifier. We have not added advertising, analytics trackers, or a newsletter form to the app pages. Following an external link makes a request to that destination.

Your choices and questions

You can use the app locally, change permissions, disable optional integrations, export your library, and delete content through the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, erase, or restrict personal information held by the developer. Contact us about those rights or a privacy concern. We cannot retrieve a local library we do not possess.

The app is not designed to solicit children’s personal information. If you believe a child sent personal information directly to the developer, contact us so we can address it. Material changes to this policy will be dated here and explained with the relevant app change.
